Javier Perez-Abreu, Esq., is the founding partner of the Law Firm of Perez-Abreu & Martin-Lavielle, P.A. Mr. Perez-Abreu is Board Certified in Marital and Family Law since 1999 and specializes in sophisticated and complex Family Law matters arising from interpersonal relationships both domestically and abroad. He also maintains an active practice in Alternative Dispute Resolution as a Certified Family Mediator, Certified Civil Mediator, Certified Arbitrator, and is also trained as a Collaborative Law Professional.

Although Mr. Perez-Abreu is a highly skilled trial lawyer he uses his alternative resolution skills to efficiently and effectively resolve his clients legal matters in an expeditious manner.

Ana Martin-Lavielle, Board Certified Family Law Attorney / Matrimonial Attorney

Ana Martin-Lavielle, Esq., is the managing partner of the Firm. Ms. Martin-Lavielle has dedicated over 28 years of practice to the area of family law. She is a highly skilled matrimonial trial attorney. Her expertise, knowledge and experience in family law has been tested by the Florida Bar, who has recognized her as a specialist in the area of Matrimonial and Family law and as such she has been Board Certified in Marital and Family Law since 1999. Ms. Martin-Lavielle is also Certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Family Law Mediator and is trained in the Collaborative Process for dispute resolution in family cases. She is sought out by other family law practitioners to mediate highly complex and emotionally charged family cases as a result of her expertise, as well as her bilingual skills in the Spanish and English languages.

Andy W. Acosta, Family and Matrimonial Attorney

Andy W. Acosta graduated from the University of Miami prior to obtaining his law degree from the Florida State University College of Law in 1993. He practices exclusively in the area of marital and family law at both the trial and appellate level. It is his philosophy to treat every client with the same care and respect that he would want for a member of his family.

His goal is to assist the client through the divorce process and to achieve a successful financial outcome as well as emotional health for the new family unit. Andy has been with Perez-Abreu & Martin-Lavielle, P.A,. since 1998. He was born and raised in Miami, but enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures. As a son of Cuban immigrants, he is fluent in English and Spanish.

Christina MacRobert-Ruiz, Family and Matrimonial Attorney

Christina MacRobert-Ruiz received a Bachelor of Science in Communications Management and Political Science from the University of Miami prior to receiving her Juris Doctorate from Florida International University College of Law. Ms. MacRobert-Ruiz practices exclusively in the area of marital and family law at both the trial and appellate levels. She is also a member of the Collaborative Family Law Institute. Ms. MacRobert-Ruiz joined Perez-Abreu & Martin-Lavielle as an associate in 2007. She has been recognized for excellence as one of Florida’s Outstanding Young Lawyers and as a Super Lawyers Rising Star. She serves as a Lecturer in Residence for the FIU Law Bridge Legal Residency Program and served as the Vice-President of the FIU College of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors for two consecutive terms. Ms. MacRobert-Ruiz, a native of Miami, is fluent in English and Spanish and enjoys traveling, community service and cheering on her Miami sports teams.

Ana-Maria Mejer, Family and Matrimonial Attorney

Ana-Maria Mejer joined Perez-Abreu & Martin-Lavielle as an associate in February 2014. Ms. Mejer has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1995. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Mejer practiced solely in the area of Marital and Family Law for over sixteen years focusing on the areas of complex marital and family law matters including divorce, paternity, child custody, parenting plans, alimony, child support, relocation, and modification actions. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar and is also a member of the Florida Family Law Inns of Court. Ms. Mejer, a Miami native, born of Cuban parents is bilingual; speaking both Spanish and English. Ms. Mejer is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 1995) and an alumna of the University of Miami (B.A., 1989).
