Mr. Perez-Abreu’s practice is focused exclusively on the areas of complex Marital and Family Law matters including Divorce, Children’s Issues including Parenting Plans and Timesharing Issues, Equitable Distribution (including valuation and distribution of business interests), Alimony, Child Support, Attorney’s Fees, Relocation, Enforcement and Modification Actions, Paternity Disputes, preparation of Pre-Nuptial and Post-Nuptial Agreements, and Cohabitation Agreements. He regularly represents high profile individuals including business owners, athletes, celebrities and their spouses. Notwithstanding who he may represent, his philosophy is to give client’s his personal attention, and to timely respond to their communications as necessary.
In the multi-cultural and diverse South Florida community, Mr. Perez-Abreu is routinely selected by other attorneys to represent their international clients. When representing Spanish speaking clients, he can effectively communicate in Spanish in person and in writing, to ensure that the client is well informed of all issues and all aspects of their case and nothing is lost in the translation. Additionally, Mr. Perez-Abreu is also routinely selected by his Family Law colleagues as a mediator, not only because of his extensive trial experience and effective mediation skills, but also due to his ability to conduct bilingual mediations.
Mr. Perez-Abreu is a graduate of Florida State University and the University of Miami School of Law, and is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Since 2006, he has been consistently recognized by the South Florida Legal Guide as a Top Lawyer in Marital and Family Law, recognized by the Super Lawyers as one of the top attorneys in Marital Law and Family Law, and recognized by Florida Trend Magazine as part of the Legal Elite in Marital and Family Law. Mr. Perez-Abreu is one of only a few male Hispanic Board Certified Attorneys in the Miami area. He has been in private practice since 1985 and lives in Coral Gables, Florida with his wife of 29 years. He enjoys traveling with his family, snow skiing, mountain biking and is an avid tennis player.
